Individual

MHCS offers professional counselors who will help you deal with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, loss and other personal or emotional concerns.  It is with each individual in mind, that we tailor services to meet the individual’s need.

Group

MHCS provides a supportive group atmosphere where we offer you an opportunity to find new friends, healing and good advice from people who understand your problems. MHCS group facilitators work to help the group develop into a cohesive productive group.

Family and Couples

MHCS works with families to resolve past issues and improve personal relationships. It is our goal to bring families together to deal with current family transition and heal old wounds.  MHCS offers premarital and marital counseling for couples that need to strengthen their relationship and resolve marital conflicts.

Children & Adolescents

Like adults, children and adolescents can have behavioral health disorders that interfere with the way they think, feel, and act. MHCS promotes and ensures that the behavioral health needs of children and their families are met within their home, school, and community environment.  The MCHS child psychiatrists can work with your child to assess the situation and can refer for psychological testing, if appropriate.  Our program offers treatment options for a wide range of behavioral issues.

If you have concerns about your young (ages 6 and under) child’s behaviors, emotions and social skills, MCHS’s therapists can provide age-appropriate, developmentally-sensitive therapeutic assessments and treatment approaches to a wide variety of early childhood social and emotional challenges.

MCHS offers counseling services for a wide variety of concerns young children experience. We also offer linkage to community resources.

Psychiatric Treatment/Medication Management

Sometimes, clients may need medication in conjunction with their therapy.  MHCS has board certified psychiatrist to evaluate, prescribe and monitor your progress while in therapy.  Some of the areas that our psychiatric staff are proficient in  are child and adolescent care, depression, anxiety and psychotic symptoms.

Community Support

This service is provided to youth in order to promote stability and build towards age-appropriate functioning in their daily environment. Stability is measured by a decreased number of hospitalizations, by decreased frequency and duration of crisis episodes and by increased and/or stable participation in school and community activities. Supports based on the youth’s needs are used to promote resiliency while understanding the effects of the emotional disturbance and/or substance use/abuse and to promote functioning at an age-appropriate level.

The MHCS Community Support staff will serve as the primary coordinator of behavioral health services and will provide linkage to community; general entitlements; and psychiatric, substance use/abuse, medical services, crisis prevention and intervention services.

Substance Abuse

MHCS provides substance abuse assessments and counseling for individuals struggling with substance problems. People abuse substances such as drugs, alcohol, and tobacco for varied and complicated reasons, but it is clear that our society pays a significant cost. The toll for this abuse can be seen in our hospitals and emergency departments.

We provide individual, family and group counseling to help you get back on the right track and regain your life without the use of substances.

Case Management

MHCS Case Management services consist of providing environmental support and care coordination considered essential to assist the individual with improving his/her functioning, gaining access to necessary services, and creating an environment that promotes recovery as identified in his/her Individual Recovery Plan (IRP). The focus of interventions include assisting the individual with:

  1. Developing natural supports to promote community integration;
  2. Identifying service needs;
  3. Referring and linking to services and resources identified through the service planning process;
  4. Coordinating services identified on the IRP to maximize service integration and minimize service gaps; and
  5. Ensuring continued adequacy of the IRP to meet his/her ongoing and changing needs.
